ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Jenna Petty

I started taking pictures with a handy down camera at the age of 14 that my Aunt Billie gave me. At the time I didn't know much but as the years went on I got better with a camera. I loved to walk out in the woods and take pictures of nature and things that people would just walk right past not bothering to look. As my love for photography grew I started taking pictures every day! It was not till I started working at the Florida Horse Park at age 15 that I really started getting good. I would sometimes sit board and I asked if I could bring my camera to events to fill my time up and they could use my photos. Not going to lie I was bad at first taking pictures of horses. They were hard to capture and you had to be precise and there was a lag for when you pressed the button so I always had to press the button earlier then the photo. At my job I met many people most were very nice but every once in a while you meet some not so nice people but I have met Olympians and World Class Horse Trainers and even a photographer who gave me tips on how the photo should look when I take Photos of people riding a horse. This caused me to get even more picky with which photos I posted or even let people seen. In a good weekend I can take 5,000 photos but because I was so picky only around 15 to 30 or 40 would make it. I only wanted perfect photos so it made me want to get better and better. Now I have improved my editing skills and pump out more photos every new batch I get. My First cameras screen ended up breaking because of my cat but that did not stop me I could still take photos but I ended up upgrading to a Canon EOS T-5 Rebel which I love so much!!! I still work at the Florida Horse Park and I graduated from high school last year!
